April spotlight winners

A very good Morning to you all, it's time to reveal the 'In the Spotlight' winners from our April challenge.

But before I tell you who the lucky crafters are, a quick reminder about our May challenge. I think we might have frightened some of you away with our theme, but really it's not that bad, it's very much down to you how you want to interpret it. For example it could be a celebration of your own Countries involvement in the Olympics or just a sporty image, or even a beautifully coloured Queen or Princess. We have some fabulous prizes to be won, so I really hope you will join in the fun.

So now for our Spotlight winners, we had such a huge number of entries and selecting our favourites was so, so difficult, but here are the two entries we finally settled on.

Natasha had two beautiful entries and as we could not choose between the two thought it only right to display both and a few thoughts from the DT.........

"an adorable rainy day card that would brighten anyones day"..........."stunning"

"those balloons look as thought they could just float away"

Here is a little about me:

Hi, my name is Natasha and I am so excited to have two cards chosen by the design team for the Penny Black and More spotlight!  I have been making cards now for about a year and a half.  I started out with SU products then quickly started venturing out and purchasing other stamps.

I have just recently started blogging (around two months ago) and I enjoy sharing my cards with others.  One of the most difficult things about making cards for me is the layout and patterned papers!  Getting that just right is a challenge.  :)  I love coloring up stamped images and of course digital images too. I think my style leans more toward clean and simple, even though I do like to decorate my cards "a little".  My favorite Penny Black stamps are of course the Hedgehogs!  They are so darn cute!!!  Well, that's a little about me.  I would like to say Thank you to the team for spotlighting me! Natasha

Our second winner is Natalie with this equally beautiful piece of work and here's some of thee DT's comments...........

"a work of art and a beautiful scene"......."really gorgeous details".......

My name is Nataliya. I'm 32 years old and I am originally from Ukraine. My family and I have been living in Ireland for 9 years. I am married and we have 2 beautiful daughters. I started crafting 4 years ago and couldn't stop :))) I love to use stamped images on my cards, and especially I enjoy colouring them with copic markers. I also like trying different styles, shape cards with lace, ribbons, die cuts, pearls and lots of layers. I wish everyone all the best!! Enjoy your crafting and have fun!!! Hugs Natalie xx

Our thanks to each and every one of your for your fabulous entries and congratulations to Natasha and Nataliya's, I really hope you will pop over to their blog and show them your support, I know it would mean a great deal to both of them.

May challenge

Welcome to our May theme here at Penny Black and More and we have a very London theme going on this month to celebrate our Queens Diamond Jubilee and the upcoming Olympics which I for one am really looking forward to, it's such an honour to be hosting them in the UK. So our theme just had to be:

............London Celebrates............

Your entry can be a card, l/o, gift box or any other had crafted piece of work, all we ask is that your main image is stamped (remember strictly no digi images) and that it reflects the theme, it could even be using your own Country's flag colours to reflect their participation in the Olympics.

The eagle eyed amongst you will know all about the 'Delightful Celebration' collection of stamps from Penny Black which can all be viewed here, they will be available to buy on line the second week in May and in your local stockists soon after. Do check them out, I already have my eye on 40-132 So Blessed which has the most adorable silhouette lady and 30-117 Free Flight with some gorgeous butterflies and birdcage.

Lots of fabby prizes to be won as usual and first up we welcome a new sponsor Crafts U Love who are offering a £15.00 voucher for their shop. They now have the new Magnolia Summer Memories stamp collection in stock and you will find all the new goodies as they arrive here - allow plenty of time, there's so much to feast your eyes on.

And next one of our regular sponsors Crimson Cloud a mother/daughter venture - a way to indulge our joint passion of cardmaking and crafting. We only sell products that we have tried, tested and love using. We have developed our own exclusive range of digital stamps, svg files and "Make Your Own Card" kits which reflect our styles of card making - and hopefully yours too!

Here's the great prize they are offering.......................

The 'Delightful Celebration' Penny Black range will be in store this month as well. The prize from them this month seems very apt with all the visitors London is going to welcome this Summer:

March Spotlight winners

It's time to showcase our March Spotlight winners. There were so many wonderful entries last month and you seemed to love our Springtime theme, so it's no surprise that the DT had a tough job coming down to just two and we want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you for joining in and who knows, you could be in the Spotlight next month.

So here are the two lucky Spotlight winners and below each winning entry a little bit each have written about their crafting journey........................

Maddy
Thoughts of the DT: "such a lot of thought and work has gone into this"
.........."unique design and beautiful colour palette"

"Hi, I’ve been interested in crafting ever since my greatgrandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a little girl. Since then, I’ve learned embroidery, knitting, sewing, cross-stitch, and more recently have been completely addicted to papercrafting.  I like most styles but particularly vintage, steampunk and novel card designs. I love making dimensional cards, and I’m always looking to create a “Wow” factor in my designs. My favourite techniques involve using plenty of inks and stamping, with Perfect Pearls and unusual embellishments. I enjoy taking part in the online forums and have made some really good friends in the crafting community. There are some terrific people out there!"

Cath
Thoughts of the DT "stunning colours and blending"
........"beautiful fusion of colours"
spring flowers

"Hello!  What a lovely surprise to be chosen for the Spotlight - thank you so much to the team for choosing me. My name is Cath Wilson. I've been stamping for about 13 years, now and am a self-confessed stampaholic.  I love colour and all things inky, but I like to experiment with any medium and love techniques of most kinds.

Although my taste In stamps is very mixed, I LOVE Penny Black flowers and words and use them over and over again.  They’re so easy to use and make great CAS cards.  My favourite way to use them is with Tombow pens on glossy card – super quick, simple and elegant - but I also like to use them in journals and other projects, without any complicated colouring."

Well done to you both, don't forget to pick up our In the Spotlight sidebar button and display on your own blogs.

You seem to be enjoying our Oh so Cute theme this month, if you have not already joined in or want to join in again there is still ten days to go until the challenge ends.
