March Spotlight winners

It's time to showcase our March Spotlight winners. There were so many wonderful entries last month and you seemed to love our Springtime theme, so it's no surprise that the DT had a tough job coming down to just two and we want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you for joining in and who knows, you could be in the Spotlight next month.

So here are the two lucky Spotlight winners and below each winning entry a little bit each have written about their crafting journey........................

Thoughts of the DT: "such a lot of thought and work has gone into this"
.........."unique design and beautiful colour palette"

"Hi, I’ve been interested in crafting ever since my greatgrandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a little girl. Since then, I’ve learned embroidery, knitting, sewing, cross-stitch, and more recently have been completely addicted to papercrafting.  I like most styles but particularly vintage, steampunk and novel card designs. I love making dimensional cards, and I’m always looking to create a “Wow” factor in my designs. My favourite techniques involve using plenty of inks and stamping, with Perfect Pearls and unusual embellishments. I enjoy taking part in the online forums and have made some really good friends in the crafting community. There are some terrific people out there!"

Cath
Thoughts of the DT "stunning colours and blending"
........"beautiful fusion of colours"
spring flowers

"Hello!  What a lovely surprise to be chosen for the Spotlight - thank you so much to the team for choosing me. My name is Cath Wilson. I've been stamping for about 13 years, now and am a self-confessed stampaholic.  I love colour and all things inky, but I like to experiment with any medium and love techniques of most kinds.

Although my taste In stamps is very mixed, I LOVE Penny Black flowers and words and use them over and over again.  They’re so easy to use and make great CAS cards.  My favourite way to use them is with Tombow pens on glossy card – super quick, simple and elegant - but I also like to use them in journals and other projects, without any complicated colouring."

Well done to you both, don't forget to pick up our In the Spotlight sidebar button and display on your own blogs.

You seem to be enjoying our Oh so Cute theme this month, if you have not already joined in or want to join in again there is still ten days to go until the challenge ends.

Good Morning to you all, I have to confess that I nearly got caught out on this one, March seems to be rolling by so quickly that the date for revealing our two In the Spotlight winners almost passed me by.

We had some wonderful entries again in February and as always send our thanks to every one of you for taking part. We have again put our heads together and can now reveal the two winners for this month are Anja and Marianne. As well as both sharing fabulous pieces for artwork for their entries, their blogs are a source of inspiration and I would urge you to pop along and have a browse.

Anja's winning entry and some of the DT's comments
"just beautiful, amazing colouring and detail", "fabulous colouring skills"

I am Anja and 45 years old. I have a husband and two daughters. They are 12  and 15. We are living in the Netherlands.

I started with stamping 11 or 12 years ago. My first stamps were from stampendous, and soon i discovered Penny Black. I still love them. And i am a big fan of the older darcies stamps. Especially in combination with the PB stamps. Mostly i make scenery cards and i think  pb stamps are perfect for these sort of cards.  I am coloring with tombow markers, distress inks and sometimes h2o’s. Love bright colors.
Thanks for putting me in the spotlight feature. It was a big surprise!!

Mariannes winning entry and a few of the DT's comments
"love the texture and the way the flower is cut"  "beautiful elegance, texture, dimension"

Hallo, first of all I want to thank Brenda and the DT for choosing my card for the spotlight. I think it is a great honour.

My name is Marianne and I live in the Netherlands (Europe). I’ve been creative all my life. It started with drawing, painting, and I went to art school in Belgium to learn how to make sculptures. I also loved making teddy bears and discovered card making about 2 years ago. It started all in 3D and then I got my first stamps and a new world opened up for me. My card making stuff is getting a little out of hand and is stashed all over the living room and I still wonder how my hubby can put up with me and my hobbies, but we are already together for 34 years. We have one daughter, she’s living on her own and she loves to make cards as well and we have a lovely dog.

The Penny Black lovely critter stamps were one of the first clear stamps I bought. I started with rubber and clear stamps and now I’m even using digi stamps now and then. I particularly like Mo Manning, Art Journey, Sweet Pea, Greeting Farm, Kenny K., Hero Arts and Crafty Individuals and of course the PB stamps. I like to participate in challenges and I’m learning more card making skills everyday and getting more inspiration by looking at the beautiful creations when I’m visiting the crafting blogs on the internet. There is still so much to learn and so little time J. Hugs, Marianne

Our congratulations to you both, please collect our In the Spotlight sidebar logo and display on your own blogs.
